从事砚雕30多年，蔡永江将薄意雕刻技法与中国传统绘画白描相结合，运用于歙砚雕刻，形成了具有文人绘画意蕴的个人雕刻风格。他认为，“在砚雕技艺传承过程中，要把握好传承和创新的关系，学古不泥古、破法不悖法，这才是我们坚持艺术创作最重要的法则。”他觉得自己所承担的责任就是给歙砚雕刻总结出一些好的经验，传承给下一代，形成一种新的艺术语言，给后来从事这门技艺的年轻人提供更好的借鉴。
潜心传承歙砚制作技艺之余，作为政协委员，蔡永江认真履职尽责，积极参政议政。针对我市非遗传承项目众多，但传承人队伍的艺术理论素质良莠不齐、有待提高这一现状，他撰写了《关于加强非遗传承人艺术理论教育以及增加传承经费补助的建议》，认为“非遗传承人的传统艺术理论再教育迫在眉睫，希望我市相关部门能和一些大型艺术院校建立培养机制，从国家级非遗传承人开始进行系统的艺术理论培训，提高传承人的艺术理论素养，鼓励和支持传承人参加多种形式的艺术交流，从而使黄山市的非遗传承事业得到进一步发展。”
政协委员是荣誉，更是责任。蔡永江表示，“弘扬歙砚文化是我的本职工作，为黄山市工艺美术行业建言献策也是我的责任，今后我将多做一些社会调研，提出更有价值的提案，为广大工艺美术从业者‘代言’，发挥好桥梁纽带作用。”

The college football season might be over, but a hard hit in a baseball game between the Central Michigan Chippewas and Toledo Rockets that may have filled that void for a few moments.
In the top of the seventh inning, Rockets outfielder Luke Walton hit a dribbler back to Chippewas pitcher Max Hammond. Walton blazed down the first base line, trying to avoid a tag or at least get to the bag before the pitcher threw it to the first baseman.

Hammond came down the line and pushed Walton down. The tag was made, but Walton took exception to the shove. He got back up and addressed Hammond face-to-face. The two players had to be held back as both benches spilled out onto the field.
As the dust cleared, Hammond and Walton were both ejected. The coaches didn’t address the situation after the game.

Central Michigan picked up the 6-5 win in the 11th inning when Harrison Bowman delivered an RBI single. Bowman was 3-for-5 with a double in the win.
The Chippewas defeated the Rockets, 18-7, on Saturday night. The victories clinched Central Michigan’s first Mid-American Conference series win of the season. They improved to 9-11 overall on the year and 3-6 against conference opponents.
Toledo fell to 10-11 overall and 6-3 against conference opponents.

Central Michigan will return to the field on Tuesday for one game against the Michigan State Spartans. Toledo is also in action on Tuesday. They hit the road to take on the Butler Bulldogs.

Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Daniel Robert suffered a serious medical emergency while at the team’s training facility in Florida on Sunday morning.
Robert was at BayCare Ballpark in Clearwater when he suffered a cardiac event, according to MLB.com. He was on the pitcher’s mound next to the half-field after he completed his first bullpen session since October.

In October, Robert also had a cardiac event. Doctors inserted an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) near his chest over the winter. The device triggered when he was leaving the mound on Sunday, according to the report.
"I was standing right behind him," manager Rob Thomson said afterward. "It was scary because he went down, he started to get back up again and he went back down."
He added that it was "very scary."

Robert was taken to the hospital and was released hours after the incident.
The 31-year-old pitcher was taken in the 21st round of the MLB Amateur Draft in 2017 by the Texas Rangers. He made four appearances for the Rangers in 2024. He had six strikeouts in 5.2 innings.
Robert was traded to the Phillies in April 2025 for minor leaguer Enrique Segura. He made 15 appearances for Philadelphia, striking out 15 batters and allowing seven runs – six earned – in 13 innings.

It’s unclear how long Robert will be off the mound until he is cleared.
